The Yoga Newbie Online Course Registration

September 5-25, 2022

You are registering for the 3-week Yoga Newbie Course which includes the following:

  • A private hidden Facebook group where the course content will be hosted. You must be able to access Facebook to participate in this course. We all look forward to the day when there is a better option for group facilitation, but I haven’t found one yet. So, for now we keep on with FB.

  • Live discussions and yoga practices streamed via Zoom with recordings available via FB. If you want to attend the live hangouts, Q+As, yoga practices and other chats, you’ll need access to Zoom.

  • Daily access to pick my brain and ask all the the questions you’ve ever had about trying yoga, making it work for your body, finding a studio locally, and literally anything else you want to ask!

  • A community of other amazing folks like you who want to explore the world of yoga without the side of diet culture and body shaming!

In other words:

  • 3 weeks of daily check-ins and direct access to me to discuss thought provoking questions and learn from my experiences (and mistakes) as a fat, queer, chronically ill person in the yoga world.

  • A weekly theme, custom handouts, and videos to explore the world of yoga, including: why you haven’t tried before/what happened when you did, the 8 Limbs of Yoga, the different styles and types of yoga, all about yoga props and why they’re helpful, how to find a yoga studio or teacher, every ‘embarrassing’ question about yoga you’ve ever had, meeting your body where it is, and more!

  • Time and space dedicated to making new friends and meeting other folks who want to learn about yoga in a non-competitive body-liberation oriented space.

Big and Bold: Yoga for the Plus-Size Woman is a book for *anyone in a larger body who wants the benefits of yoga without the side of diet culture and body shaming that’s so prevalent in the yoga world.

This book is for you if:

  • you’ve wanted to try yoga, but thought it wasn’t for you

  • you aren’t flexible

  • you have chronic pain or injury

  • you don’t want to feel judged or on display

  • you want to learn how to make poses work for your body

*While the title of the book includes a gender-specific reference, I wrote this book for all bodies. The publisher’s series is gender -specific, but I intentionally wrote the book without gender-specific information or language.
